a sneaky cuppa

was able to finish up my intern stuff early this morning and this afternoon . . . so I found a few moments to have a cuppa with my mommy :) Knead Bakery in Muizenberg . . . in this weather? what better place.

Intern day 3 . . . more calls to make . . . but no coffee runs, which is awesome. Best Intern position ever. Made such a good choice . . . could think of nothing worse than running up and down getting coffee for people when they can get it themselves . . . being a Personal Assistant is so much better. We order coffee ;)

intern with a kick.

well, go read Vintage Lifestyle Magazine, Issue 4, and be inspired by that photoshoot . . . let me know what you think.

have a lovely day . . . sunshine, rain, hail, sleet, snow, hormonal pregnant women :) be bold, make good choices . . .chat later ;)
it's a beautiful day

winter has made it's way to us

thought it had forgotten us down here. but, alas, it has arrived. and with a kick too.

college has kept me so busy, I haven't found much tome to actually write. I miss it. My days go by with me continuously thinking about postings and statuses for facebook, and how I can tweet my way through the days.

lets recap this year so far . . .
fedisa is insane, so much of hard work . so little time
basic wrap up of the past four months.

I will be doing my twenty one day internship at Vintage Lifestyle Magazine
which I am very excited about . . . will be being published, involved and will see all that happens in a magazine, just an online version. this will be during my June/July holiday

at the same time, I will have to make my forth outfit for {s o u t h e r n   c o m f o r t}

the whole collection thing is hard . working for thirty seven hours without a wink of sleep isn't fun, and then add the stress of six deadlines to that lack of sleep, and then the occasional attack of hunger . . . third year is no joyride. student life, pfffft.

today I had time to put together my first outfit post in a while . . . just another student outfit . . .

what I'm wearing

leatherette bomber - identity
cabel knit jersey - hand me down
blue pinstrip camisole - pick n pay
satin leggings, leopard print scarf - woolworths
legwarmers - gift
brown amber ring - gift from my mommy
turquoise round ring, turquiose stone bracelet - gift from my love
pendant necklace - methology
pochahontas boots - china town market

okay, lets talk why I'm wearing what I am . . . stripes . spots. because I want to :) Because I can.

don't be afraid of mixing your prints. prints are going to be hot this season, but don't bore the world with your impersonal style - dress for yourself, and dress because you want to. stop reading through other peoples blogs/websites and trend forecasts - be inspired by what you see on the street, be inspired by the world around you. take pictures, fill your mind with beautiful places, beautiful people and eat beautiful food.

that's the most important tip for winter - forget looking skinny, thin, slim and whatever other task you set for your body. eat what you want. It's only for three more months anyway.
we have fat days. as feminine forms, it's only natural.
my mommy always reminds me . . .
"you may be having a fat day, but to the rest of the world you look exactly the same as you did yesterday"

groovies, alive .

B R E A T H   O F   F R E S H   A I R

I made it through the most gruelling two weeks of my student life. Never have I had so much work due for such a sort period of time, and due the first day of term . . . but post to follow on storyboards for {southern comfort} a graduate collection

I bought this shirt/mini dress a few weeks ago and I'm loving the pattern . . . I actually have another dress with a similar one. Definitely going to be throwing the patterns and colours in for winter. I Hate that dull haze everyone submits to in the cold months.

what I'm wearing

chiffon mini dress - new look
jeans - RE:Jeans, Woolworths
red leatherette bag - gift from parents
clear sunglasses - vintage, controlite
brown ruffle maryjanes - unreal
turquoise rings - wearhouse, wynberg
green stone ring - longbeach craft market

I just want to say something, because I can really.
childish moment to follow . . .

I don't like when people copy, at the best of times . . . but when it is something as important as a major aspect of my personal touches to my blog or collection heading/logo etc I get annoyed.
I might just 'TM' it . . . but for the good part of this year, especially fedisa graduate students - the parenthesis brackets, { curlicue } <-- these ones, are my 'touch' for this year. I know I don't 'own' them, but kindly, out of respect, stick to other forms of brackets, parenthesis forms and such.
some say 'flattery is a compliment, you should feel honoured.'
I say, think of your own bladdy ideas.
kthanxbye . . . actually that's so over used nowww, just a simple "Thanks a lot" will do :)

paisley blind

when you are used to being so busy, you only have a few hours to sleep, you don't know how to relax and have quiet time . . .
I always feel like if I'm sitting, I'm wasting my time. I know I annoy my family and my darling boy with my constant need to do something. I don't know how to chill . . . which is silly, really because I enjoy doing lots of different things, I have lots of interests, they just all cost money to do, which isn't great.
What do you like to do to relax?
I vibrate, on a high level :)

. . . aaaahhhhh. I like to blog, lets be honest.

what I'm wearing

paisley blouse - thrifted
jeans - RE:Jeans at Woolworths
lattice pumps - Mr Price
turquoise Semi-precious stone ring - Market, Wynberg

I am LOVING my turquoise stone rings! These stones are such a great colour against my skin and look amazing with all my other jewelry, gold and silver.

and the shirt.
I found it at my trusty thrift store :) Big, poofy bell sleeves. Paisley pattern, orangy purple colouring. Rouged A-Line style, baby doll. Lacing detail on the sleeve edge. Just awesome. Well made, vintage-styled swing top.

is summer coming?

A few days ago, I bought a new pair of shoes :)
beige pumps with a beige, cooton cut out flower on the toe. Lovely :)
they fit well and look great, except I found it hard to pair them with an outfit.
Eventually I rolled up my favourite jeans and through on my best blazor and taa-dah :)

what I'm wearing

beige flower pums - Mr Price
grey blazor - Project at Mr Price
jeans - RE:Denims at Woolworths
white buttonthrough shirt - dunno :) found :)
ring - Wynberg Market
