I was planning on doing a HUGE post on the Rock the River New Years out door party I went to . . . but . . . it was very disappointing and we didn't get many fashiony photos. Just one of those weekends when we fought with the GPS and got lost, fought with the weather and got wet and fought with my car, got lost and was just all around a badly organise event, from there side . . . but I probably will do a festival dress post soon.

So I'm home, working again, with just under 2 weeks of holiday left before my final year of my Fashion Design degree. We have a big project during the holidays to accessorise our

P R O J E C T   B A L L  G O W N  dresses to fit into the theme of Larger that Life, for the J&B Met, the horse racing competition . . . very exciting as I have never been involved in this competiton before. I have been putting off the work the whole holiday, and now really have to do the work, so have given today to make the accessories :)

The weather has taken a turn for the worse, and it has turned chilly :( Oh no . . . where has summer gone?

being bored is the worst feeling in the world.

being uncomfortable when you're exhausted, trying to sleep, being eaten by 'squitos all night is very close.

so you wake up, tired and annoyed, you have to do something else, other than sit and chill.

The Vintage craft Market was cancelled this week so . . . Kalk bay was happening :)

I took Liz and Jess, and we went to walk around Kalk Bay Main Road. I went into Mythology, in search of Beatnik Bazaar's stuff, to no avail. Nothing. Except I found a Christmas gift List item ;)

Has been a nice weekend, since it has been a long time since I had a weekend off and to myself. I got a mini promotion at work, so that's pretty cool :) Looking forward to starting that this week.

I also want to congratulate my dear cousin, and highest commenting reader, Leilani van Wyk and her fiance CJ Sterfontein on their engagement. I am so excited for you two.

bunny tails and long grasses

oooh I hate the wind . . .

It's half way through the first week of my well deserved summer holiday, and we have had the worst 'summer' weather ever! Winter storms and pounding wind all week.

The green way down the road from our house has the coolest field type bunny tails and grasses . . . looks so beautiful in the wind.

I'm very upset because my favourite jeans are finally giving in, after 3 years. I bought them just before the SKINNY JEAN craze hit, so that's a very long time to have survived . . . Impressed with Woolworths :)

ballet story

soo, you may of noticed a spelling change of my blog title - croque, as written on my college assignment briefs, was incorrectly spelt. That word is the prefix of a meal . . . 

The correct spelling of the word is

c r o q u i s

pronounced the same as before, crow-kee, kRaw-kee 

which is the name of the big, black scrap idea book we use at fashion school, to illustrate how we arrived at our designs.

I am very embarrassed, as spelling is not my strongest point, at the best of time.
