Voilà!

Voilà! Cafe in Cape Quarter, Green Point
Walking around Cape Quarter at 10 a.m. looking for a place to have a cup of coffee and a bite to eat, something caught our eye. A brightly coloured shop in the corner of an indoor courtyard. Voila!

it was our Communications group, Robyn le Sueur, Bianca da Silva, Jelena Jablonvic and Ms Berman, our Communication and Social Studies lecturer/teacher :)

A very friendly waitress approached us and we took our couched table near the corner. The atmosphere was light and cheerful, except for the jack hammering right outside the door. This made it difficult to hear the calming music in the background. The cafe had about six other occupants sitting inside and a few other sitting spaced out in the courtyard.

The wall paper was a patterned print, which co-ordinated with the colours of the chairs and tables. Bright pink and lime green, very vibrant, with touches of white and wood. The lights where white canvas with metal flowers. As design students, this impressed us. At the main entrance, there was a dining room table full of  treats and goodies, all colour co-ordinated, such as coconut ice and cupcakes, heart shaped chocolates on sticks and giant gourmet muffins.

The menu was extensive, and the prices were reasonable. We were surprised to find there was an entire menu for ‘teas’. We took a while to order, and each time the waitress was pleasant. The nibbles and drinks arrived quickly and were fresh and lovely. Robyns’ croissant was fresh and crispy and Jelenas’ biscuit was tasty. Bianca had difficulty ordering as everything she seemed to want was out of stock, and all was chocolate and coffee, and she felt like something nice and healthy. My Red Cappichino was covered with honey, though this was not specified on the menu, and was horrible (because I hate honey). Over all, the food and drinks were lovely

Our bill, which was us five and Ms B, came to R136.00 without tip. That was five drinks and three nibbles over an hour and a half. We enjoyed our experience. Voilà!
